I’ve moved six times in the past four years–more than I have for decades. I went back to graduate school in my 50’s, not realizing how unrealistically high my expectations still were. I did not know the meaning of “adjunct” professor. It sounded vaguely mathematical. I’m hoping now that I’m “lecturing” in three departments, the moving is over. And honestly, this is the first place I can imagine living for years. Sun, trees, space, deer, owls, and wild turkeys. And Obie likes it. He’s got a new lookout under the pines. That matters.
